CoreWeave, differentiating itself by focusing on high-performance computing optimized for AI and machine learning workloads, has been strategically forging partnerships amidst a competitive rush among tech giants and AI startups to bolster their infrastructure. The Meta deal closely follows CoreWeave’s recently expanded agreement with OpenAI, which saw the contract value increase by $6.5 billion, culminating in a total commitment of $22.4 billion. This aggressive expansion signifies CoreWeave’s rising prominence in the AI infrastructure market.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed in July that the company is on schedule to launch its first supercluster in the upcoming year, with several others in development. Zuckerberg noted that facility is expected to be large enough to cover “a significant part of the footprint of Manhattan.”
