“This isn’t just about ticking boxes; it’s about fostering a positive environment that benefits employees and visitors alike,” noted Sean McCrady, Vice President and General Manager of the Enterprise Sustainability group at UL Solutions. “Hyundai Card’s leadership in achieving these Healthy Building Marks in Asia demonstrates a clear commitment. We’re proud to partner with them on this journey.”
The UL Verified Healthy Building Mark program is designed to meet the rising demand for healthier indoor spaces. It provides tangible metrics that set spaces apart, enabling businesses to communicate clear improvements in occupant health and well-being. By evaluating indoor environments, and providing tangible solutions, the program makes for continuous improvement.
To earn the UL Verified Healthy Building Mark, Hyundai Card facilities underwent rigorous assessment, testing, and analysis guided by trusted third-party organizations, including the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
The Music Library and Vinyl & Plastic both received the UL Verified Healthy Building Mark for Indoor Air and Water, emphasizing the importance of air and water quality within these spaces. This involved evaluating the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as assessing for both airborne pathogens and contaminants.
The Cooking Library and Iron & Wood were awarded the UL Verified Healthy Building Mark for Indoor Environment. This comprehensive mark covers the five key areas of air, water, hygiene, light, and acoustics, offering a broad perspective on the indoor environment.
A Hyundai Card representative stated, “These certifications underscore our commitment to creating safe and healthy environments. Working with UL Solutions has given us the proper data to demonstrate our commitment.”
Further expanding its commitment, UL Solutions also evaluated the indoor air quality of three office buildings at Hyundai Card’s headquarters in Seoul.
