In a move set to disrupt the landscape of higher education planning, Alibaba-backed Quark has unveiled the first-of-its-kind AI model dedicated to assisting students with their crucial college application decisions. This innovative tool integrates three core features: “Comprehensive Entrance Exam Search,” “Application Report Generation,” and “Intelligent College Selection”.
According to Quark, the product leverages its proprietary, internally developed college application AI model combined with a specialized knowledge base. This integration streamlines the process, from complex inquiries to the generation of detailed application reports.
The “Application Report Generation” feature, which simulates the decision-making process of expert advisors, provides students with comprehensive reports. These reports include strategic suggestions, college application outlines, and tailored college recommendations, making it the only intelligent agent of its kind in the domestic market capable of producing such complete reports. The service is currently available for trial use.
The computation required to power the generation of these reports, which typically takes 5-10 minutes, is significant. This necessitates robust computing power.
Jia Haifeng, Quark’s Product Manager, stated, “To ensure that the product can handle the extensive generation needs of a large user base, Quark has increased its computing power investment by 100 times this year, while continuing to provide services for free.”
The “Comprehensive Entrance Exam Search” feature enables the system to understand and respond to personalized questions, taking into account factors such as scores, personality traits, and career aspirations.
For example, consider a hypothetical student: “A female student in Jiangsu province has scored 584 with a focus on Physics, she is outgoing, and her parents want her to become a teacher for a stable career, while she intends to work in big tech companies. What advice can you provide?”
The system is designed to automatically identify key information, analyze potential college options, assess admission probabilities, explore the potential of different majors, and evaluate the impact on future employment and further education. Finally, comprehensive application advice is provided.
The “Intelligent College Selection” tool offers “risk, balanced, and secure” application plans and provides in-depth analysis of different colleges, based on the student’s scores and preferences. This feature is also the most frequently used by students.
After entering province, subject, score, and ranking, the system automatically recommends three different application strategies. Students can further specify their individual needs to refine their search.
By integrating AI capabilities, the platform can instantly showcase the distinct advantages and unique features of target colleges and majors, empowering students with rapid insights.
In addition, during the application period, Quark will host free live broadcasts featuring a team of renowned experts. It also provides a dedicated column by Zhang Xuefeng, offering exclusive tips and advice.
Moreover, Quark has developed a meticulously structured “Entrance Exam Knowledge Base” covering over 2,900 colleges and nearly 1,600 undergraduate majors nationwide.
