HOUSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Ranger Energy Services (RNGR) is electrifying the oilfield, announcing today the development of the industry’s first Hybrid Double Electric Workover Rig. This move signals a significant push towards improved efficiency and safer operations, all while slashing emissions.

Ranger’s strategy involves converting existing Taylor rig designs – a unique advantage they possess. This approach allows for the electrification of their high-spec rig fleet at a cost well below that of building new electric rigs from scratch. Dubbed the “ECHO” rig, this innovation leverages proven industrial electrification technologies borrowed from outside the energy sector, creating a truly differentiated market offering.
