Xinba addressed skepticism, claiming this retirement is final, despite four previous announcements of stepping back. He officially handed over the account to Chu Ruixue. Chinese livestreaming sensation Xinba (Xin Youzhi) has announced his apparent retirement from the industry, citing health concerns during his “818” anniversary livestream. The account will be handed over to his company, Xin Xuan Group, which will be managed by his wife, Chu Ruixue.

Xinba addressed skepticism surrounding his retirement during a recent livestream with Chu Ruixue, stating that this time it’s for real. He acknowledged previous instances of announcing his departure, but emphasized the finality of this decision.

“Today is Chu Ruixue’s first solo livestream, and I’m here to hand over the reins,” Xinba stated. “After this broadcast, I will no longer be associated with this account. The registration and ownership will be fully transferred to the company.”

This marks the fifth time Xinba has made statements suggesting he would be stepping away from livestreaming.

Past instances include: a mutual “indefinite retirement” announcement with fellow streamer Sanda Ge in April 2020 after a dispute; claims in April 2021 that he was “defeated by capital and traffic”; suggestions in November 2023 that he would gradually transition to a behind-the-scenes role; and his announcement in April 2024 of a potential “retirement” following multiple account suspensions.

It’s also worth noting that in July, Xinba’s own brand, “Cotton Secret” sanitary napkins, faced controversy when multiple batches of products were found to contain high levels of thiourea, a class 3 carcinogen.

Public test reports indicated that certain batches of products manufactured between 2019 and 2025 contained thiourea levels as high as 16,653μg/g, significantly exceeding cosmetic safety standards.

Xinba has yet to comment on the Cotton Secret product safety concerns.
