NEW YORK & LONDON – Evercore (EVR), a leading independent investment banking advisory firm, has strategically expanded its Evercore ISI division with the appointment of Alexander Virgo as Senior Managing Director. Based in London, Virgo will spearhead coverage of global multi-industry companies, a move that underscores Evercore’s commitment to providing comprehensive, cross-sector insights in an increasingly interconnected global economy.

“In today’s environment, understanding the interplay between different sectors is critical for our clients,” commented Mike Paliotta, CEO of Evercore ISI. “Alex’s expertise in covering multi-industry companies will be instrumental in helping our clients navigate the complexities of the global market and make informed strategic decisions.”

His broad perspective will be invaluable as we continue to refine our capabilities and meet the evolving needs of our clients.”

Virgo brings to Evercore ISI a wealth of experience, spanning nearly 25 years in the industrial sector, with 15 years specifically focused on equity research. Prior to joining Evercore, he co-led European industrials coverage at Bank of America, a role where he consistently achieved top rankings from Extel/Institutional Investor since 2020, including securing the top or second position in the last three years. His career also includes senior positions at Nomura and Berenberg, as well as coverage of U.S. multi-industrials at Credit Suisse. Earlier, he gained experience covering cyclicals at U.S. hedge fund Och Ziff in London and in industrials investment banking at UBS. This diverse background provides him with a unique and comprehensive understanding of the global industrial landscape.

The move comes at a pivotal moment for global industrials, with supply chains undergoing significant restructuring and companies facing increasing pressure to adapt to shifting geopolitical realities and technological advancements. Virgo’s experience will be particularly valuable in helping Evercore’s clients navigate these challenges and identify new opportunities for growth.

“I am thrilled to join Evercore ISI at this transformative time for industrial supply chains,” said Mr. Virgo. “I am particularly excited to leverage global insights with deep end-market knowledge to contribute to the continued success of this respected platform.” His vision reflects the broader trend of financial institutions prioritizing sector-specific expertise and global perspectives to provide clients with optimal advisory services.
