Boeing 737 Suffers Landing Gear Collapse in Kunming, Blocking Runway
On July 14th, a Myanmar National Airlines Boeing 737-800 (XY-ALV), flight UB805 from Yangon, experienced a landing incident at Kunming Airport, damaging its right main landing gear. All passengers deplaned safely with no injuries reported. The airport’s emergency response plan was activated, and operations have returned to normal after the aircraft was removed. The 15.6-year-old aircraft, previously with Garuda Indonesia, joined Myanmar National Airlines in May 2022. The incident highlights the importance of aviation safety and maintenance.
