SambaNova has secured $1 billion in new funding, valuing the AI chip startup at $11 billion amidst intense competition in the AI inference market. SambaNova Systems appoints semiconductor veteran Lip-Bu Tan as Executive Chairman and announces a strategic multiyear alliance with Intel. Intel will integrate its chips into SambaNova’s architecture, invest $350 million, and collaborate on sales and marketing to boost SambaNova’s generative AI hardware, particularly its SN50 chip, as a contender against Nvidia. This partnership aims to accelerate AI innovation and broaden market adoption.
