HII announced the successful completion of builder’s sea trials for the *Ted Stevens* (DDG 128), a Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. These trials validated the vessel’s systems, including the advanced AN/SPY-6(V)1 radar. HII has delivered 35 Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and currently has five Flight III destroyers under construction. To meet demand, HII is partnering with other shipyards to expand production capacity. The Flight III destroyers feature the Aegis Baseline 10 combat system.

HII is expanding shipbuilding capacity via strategic partnerships and distributed manufacturing. Outsourced hours doubled in 2025, aiming to quadruple within two years. A structural assembly network includes 23 partners, growing further. HII christened the future USS Jeremiah Denton (DDG 129), the third Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer built at Ingalls Shipbuilding. The ship honors Senator Jeremiah Denton Jr., a decorated Vietnam War veteran. Speakers highlighted the shipbuilders’ dedication and the vessel’s role in national security. The destroyer features advanced technology, reflecting modern surface combatant capabilities, solidifying HII’s commitment to U.S. naval power.
