Huawei’s F5G-A 10-Gigabit All-Optical Campus Solution Dominates, Leading China Market for Six Consecutive Years

In a fresh report released this week, market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) has unveiled its latest findings on China’s Passive Optical LAN (POL) market for the second half of 2024. The study offers a fascinating glimpse into the burgeoning sector.

The report highlights some impressive figures, with the spotlight firmly on Huawei. Huawei has retained its crown as the leading player in the Chinese POL market, marking its sixth consecutive year in the top spot. Looking ahead, IDC forecasts a steady growth trajectory for China’s POL market. Projections indicate a 7.3% expansion in 2025, reaching a market size of approximately RMB 1.99 billion. The growth is expected to continue, with the market estimated to hit RMB 2.52 billion by 2029.

As China’s POL market leader, Huawei’s F5G all-optical campus solution has found resounding success, boasting over 10,000 successful commercial deployments across diverse sectors including education, healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing.

In 2025, Huawei unveiled its F5G-A all-optical campus solution, a next-generation offering that leverages groundbreaking technologies such as 50G PON and Wi-Fi 7. This innovation enables 50G connectivity directly to rooms, 10G connectivity to access points, and 2.5G connectivity to individual desktops, heralding a significant leap forward in network performance.

Compared to its predecessor, the F5G-A solution boasts key upgrades, including significantly enhanced bandwidth, capacity for more connections, reduced latency, increased reliability, and improved energy efficiency. These enhancements cater to the growing demand for sustainable, high-performance, and future-proof campus networks.

Further streamlining the deployment process, Huawei has also launched its FTTO Planner, a network planning tool that utilizes AI to analyze CAD drawings and automatically generate network configurations.
