JetBlue and Brightline Forge First Intermodal Alliance to Streamline Travel Across Florida
NEW YORK — JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) has teamed up with Brightline, the pioneering privately-owned passenger rail system in the U.S., in a deal set to revolutionize travel through Central and South Florida. The new partnership, announced today, allows JetBlue fliers to seamlessly book Brightline tickets directly on jetblue.com, creating combined itineraries for a smoother journey to and from cities like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando.
“As JetBlue expands its presence in Florida, with more flights serving Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando, this partnership with Brightline offers significant value and convenience to our customers,” said Dave Jehn, vice president, network planning and airline partnerships at JetBlue. “Both JetBlue and Brightline prize innovation and top-tier service. Together, we’re opening up more transportation options, ensuring our customers arrive at their destinations with ease, even when plans shift.”
Brightline offers convenient connections to JetBlue flights at stations throughout Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Orlando. Crucially, the Orlando station, located at Orlando International Airport, provides effortless transfers between air and rail. Furthermore, Brightline offers shuttle services between airports and nearby stations in South Florida, included in the integrated booking for added convenience. Passengers opting for JetBlue’s Mint® or core experience will find themselves matched with Brightline’s Premium or Smart fare classes, respectively, further streamlining their travel choices.
“We’re thrilled to partner with JetBlue to enhance connectivity across Florida,” stated Barbara Drahl, senior vice president of marketing and commercial strategy at Brightline. “This is about allowing travelers to book a single ticket for air and rail, providing a fast, reliable, and environmentally conscious rail travel option while connecting seamlessly with JetBlue’s extensive network.”
This collaboration ensures JetBlue customers, including those with multi-modal itineraries, can benefit from Brightline’s premium train services, known for their high-speed capabilities, comfortable seating, an upscale on-board experience, and effortless access to key destinations across Central and South Florida.
Beyond the convenience of new bookings, this agreement also allows JetBlue to offer alternative itineraries that incorporate Brightline rail segments during periods of operational hiccups in Florida, thereby adding more flexibility and helping enhance customer recovery options when travel experiences disruption.
