CNBC News, July 1st — JD Logistics, the logistics arm of China’s e-commerce giant JD.com, has announced a significant expansion of its premium courier service, Jingzunda. Aimed at elevating the delivery experience for high-value goods, the service is now available in an expanded footprint designed to cater to a growing demand for specialized delivery.
The Jingzunda service, initially covering key metropolitan areas like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, is now broadening its reach to include Tianjin, Chongqing, and Suzhou. This expansion is a strategic move to capture a larger share of the premium delivery market.
Beyond geographical expansion, JD Logistics is also enhancing the product categories covered by Jingzunda. The service is deepening its focus on fashion luxury goods and gift-giving scenarios, complementing its existing strengths in computer and office supplies, 3C digital products, mother and baby items, alcoholic beverages, luxury goods, and jewelry.
Having pioneered a high-end courier model, JD Logistics’ Jingzunda service is characterized by its dedicated personnel and vehicles, bespoke custom packaging, and dedicated customer service. Delivery teams undergo rigorous selection and professional training, ensuring careful handling of packages and a uniformed, professional appearance during transit.
These initiatives are designed not only to imbue the gifting experience with a greater sense of occasion but also to elevate the overall consumer experience through features like timed and scheduled deliveries, and enhanced security for high-value shipments through special “express safety” protocols.
The commitment to premium service was evident during the recent 618 shopping festival, when a Chongqing resident received a prized bottle of Feitian Maotai delivered in impeccable style – with a Jingzunda courier dressed in a sharp suit and wearing white gloves.
The Jingzunda service experiences notable surges in demand during special holidays and gifting seasons.
Statistics reveal a significant uptick in usage: on May 20th, a popular gifting day in China, Jingzunda orders saw a more than 100% increase, while on Children’s Day (June 1st), orders grew by approximately 80%.
With the integration of Tianjin, Chongqing, and Suzhou into its service network, JD Logistics has indicated that further city expansions for the Jingzunda service are already in the planning stages, signaling a robust growth strategy for its premium logistics offerings.
