Opera’s Latest Update Adds Built-in Translation to Desktop Browsers and Animated Cursors to Opera GX

Opera is bridging language divides for its global user base with the introduction of Opera Translate. This new, secure, and integrated translation feature is now available in the company’s flagship desktop browsers, Opera One and Opera GX. Beyond breaking down linguistic barriers, this substantial update also enhances multitasking capabilities across both browsers and introduces a new layer of personalization to Opera GX with fully customizable animated cursors.

The core of this release, Opera Translate, is designed to make international content accessible to everyone. As a highly requested feature by users of both Opera One and Opera GX, it’s seamlessly integrated. The browser automatically detects when a webpage is in a language different from the user’s default and offers an instant translation. Supporting over 40 languages, Opera Translate empowers users to explore international websites, follow global news, and navigate foreign content with ease, whether for business or leisure.

Opera Translate is powered by Lingvanex’s AI-driven technology, ensuring natural and accurate language processing. Importantly, Opera has prioritized user privacy by hosting all translation services on its own European servers. Recognizing that traditional cursors are a missed opportunity for expression, Opera GX is now the first browser to offer complete customization of the mouse cursor interface. In partnership with Sweezy Cursors, Opera GX provides a library of over 30 cursor packs, featuring both static and animated designs, all applicable with a single click.
