Social media influencer known online as “Dai Dai Yang,” has passed away at the age of 22 after a courageous 1,610-day battle with cancer, according to reports circulating in Chinese media on July 20.
The popular online personality was diagnosed with late-stage bone cancer at the young age of 17. In a poignant farewell message to her online community, “Dai Dai Yang” shared her reflections on her journey.
“For five years, the storms of life have repeatedly knocked me down,” she wrote. “But I always gritted my teeth and stood up, treating my bruises as badges of honor and turning tears into courage. I really tried my best, fighting like a warrior to the last bullet.” She expressed gratitude to her followers, saying, “Thank you to all who loved me, cared about me, and crossed paths with me. It is you who made my short life so rich.”
In her touching farewell, she added, “Although I won’t be able to accompany you on the road ahead, my blessings will always be with you. I hope you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets for me, feel the fresh breeze for me, taste a new ice cream flavor for me, and embrace those who are still fighting against illness. May you cherish each other and live well.”
