Quark Showcases Integrated AI Services at WAIC

At the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) on July 27th, Alibaba’s Quark, a flagship AI application, made a splash. Following the initial unveiling of the Quark AI Glasses that generated significant buzz, Quark showcased a suite of its latest AI features, including AI Writing, AI Image Generation, AI Camera, Deep Search, and Deep Research. Quark’s “One-Stop AI Service” within its AI Super App (超级框) drew crowds, becoming one of the most popular pavilions at the conference.

As Alibaba’s premier AI application, Quark has undergone a comprehensive upgrade to become an “AI Super App.” Built upon Alibaba’s proprietary inference and multimodal large language models, Quark intelligently orchestrates AI tools based on user prompts. This includes functionalities like AI Search, AI Camera, AI Writing, AI Image Generation, AI Homework Help, and AI Presentation (PPT) generation. Quark aims to be a versatile AI assistant catering to work, study, and lifestyle needs, proving particularly popular with a younger demographic.

On the opening day of WAIC, Alibaba provided a tech showcase concerning its first self-developed AI glasses – the Quark AI Glasses. These glasses integrate the Tongyi Qianwen large language model and Quark’s latest AI capabilities. Notably, Quark’s visual question-answering and productivity features are being natively adapted for the glasses, moving towards a truly portable AI assistant. Despite not yet being officially released, the Quark AI Glasses booth proved exceptionally popular, becoming a must-see attraction.

Adding a touch of “down-to-earth” appeal, Quark’s AI Camera became a popular interactive feature at the Quark booth. Attendees could easily solve real-world knowledge gaps. Whether identifying unknown plants, exploring historical artifacts or famous paintings, figuring out recipes, or translating foreign language snippets, users simply pointed their camera to instantly search, solve problems, or translate.

Recently, Quark’s healthcare large language model became the first in China to pass a medical evaluation standard set by chief physicians, and this “Chief Physician-Level AI Doctor” has been fully integrated into Quark’s AI search. Visitors at the conference were actively using the search function. In addition, Quark’s latest Deep Research feature, claimed to be able to complete in-depth research reports/proposals on various topics in as little as five minutes, garnered the interest of professionals from numerous fields.

Furthermore, visitors were able to experience other AI capabilities, including AI Writing, which supports long-form writing across various styles and genres, and AI Image Generation, with text-to-image, text-to-video, image-to-image, and image-to-video functionalities.
