Registration opens August 11th for the ninth annual Nevada Youth Homelessness Summit, a key gathering for stakeholders tackling the state’s escalating crisis.
LAS VEGAS, August 5th, 2025 – Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) and Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS) are gearing up to host the 2025 Nevada Youth Homelessness Summit on Friday, November 14th, in Downtown Las Vegas at the Historic Fifth Street School. This pivotal event, crucial for advocacy in this space, will begin accepting registrations on August 11th at nphy.org/Summit25.
Backed by UNLV’s Greenspun College of Urban Affairs and the Las Vegas Review-Journal, this year’s Summit aims to build on momentum from previous years to end youth homelessness by forging Nevada’s first standalone plan to address the issue.
“While Nevada has made significant strides in tackling youth homelessness, emerging challenges and rapidly changing realities are jeopardizing more young lives,” cautions Arash Ghafoori, CEO of NPHY. “Summit 2025 will empower Nevadans to take ownership of our response. We’re laser-focused on solutions funding and driving tangible change right here in our state. Amplifying youth voices is paramount; their lived experiences and vision will guide bold, sustainable strategies that genuinely resonate.”
Data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development paints a concerning picture: Clark County saw a 34% surge in youth homelessness between 2023 and 2024, with a statewide increase of 27%. Compounding the issue, Nevada faces an acute affordable housing shortage – a mere 17 affordable rentals are available for every 100 extremely low-income households, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition.
Following the Summit in November 2025, work will begin in 2026 to develop the first standalone plan across the state to end youth homelessness. Inspiration for this will come from the Southern Nevada Plan to End Youth Homelessness, introduced in 2018, which brought together more than 40 cross-sector stakeholder groups from across the local community to create a clear actionable plan.
This year’s Summit will also serve as a launchpad for findings from the statewide Youth Experiencing Homelessness Study, a vital needs assessment revealing the current landscape of youth homelessness in Nevada.
Summit 2025 will convene young people with direct experience of homelessness, service providers, government agencies, leaders from the civic and political world, and the private sector. Expect inspirational sessions offering updates on the Movement to End Youth Homelessness, presentations, and group discussions analyzing intersectional issues, trends affecting vulnerable young people, and sharing youth insights.
Registration for Summit 2025 opens August 11th at nphy.org/summit25. Early bird registration is $100 through September 19th, increasing to $175 thereafter. The Summit 2025 agenda and speaker details will be posted at nphy.org/summit25 starting in September.
