CNBC AI News, August 6th – Ant Group honored its long-serving employees last night in simultaneous events across its nationwide campuses. The focus was squarely on the 2,733 employees, dubbed “Decade of Dedication” awardees, who have been with the company for over 10 years.
These “Decade of Dedication” honorees, averaging 39 years old, represent 7.5% of Ant Group’s total workforce. Notably, 45% of this group are in technical roles, highlighting the company’s emphasis on engineering and innovation.
The celebrated cohort includes innovators behind Ant Group’s key initiatives. Among them are Guan Hua, the product manager behind the widely popular “Collect Five Blessings” (集五福) Chinese New Year campaign, and Zuguo Ming, one of the founders of Yu’e Bao, Ant’s pioneering money market fund. Also recognized was Fang Kai, instrumental in the development of the digital torchbearer for the Hangzhou Asian Games, contributing over 200,000 lines of code.
At 30, Shi Tong is the youngest recipient of the award, having started as a customer service intern during her junior year of university. She has spent the last decade with Ant, assisting users and witnessing the company’s evolution first-hand.
Ant Group CEO Eric Jing presented the “Decade of Dedication” employees with a commemorative gift called “Entrusted with Fortune” (托你福), which included wine glasses, a gold-plated new employee badge, and a “Dedication Blessing” pin.
In a lighthearted moment, Ant Group Chairman Eric Jing playfully extended a “conditional offer” to the son of one of the “Decade of Dedication” honorees, promising the soon-to-be 10-year-old a direct entry-level position at Ant Group in ten years’ time.
