CALGARY, Alberta–(BUSINESS WIRE)–E3 LITHIUM LTD. (TSXV: ETL) (FSE: OW3) (OTCQX: EEMMF), a frontrunner in Canada’s lithium ambitions, is nearing the finish line for Phase 1 of its much-anticipated Demonstration Facility. Sources tell CNBC that final inspection and commissioning are imminent.
Demonstration Equipment Being Assembled on Site
The primary objective of Phase 1 is to bring the Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) system and its supporting polishing and purification units online, ultimately yielding a high-quality lithium chloride product. This material will then be used in the production of battery-grade lithium carbonate, a critical component in the burgeoning electric vehicle market.
Insiders reported that all major equipment needed for Phase 1 has been delivered to the site. The DLE system and associated polishing and purification units, first announced in July, are now fully assembled. Crews are currently focused on integrating crucial supporting infrastructure, with final mechanical and electrical checks underway. The assembly of the remaining equipment is expected to be completed within the next week, followed swiftly by the final mechanical and electrical audits. A thorough operational review will then assess the equipment’s performance, identifying any potential damage sustained during transportation.
Assuming no major hiccups arise during the operational assessment, E3 Lithium is aiming to kick off commissioning by the end of August, according to company statements. The process will begin with the introduction of previously stored brine, focusing on optimizing the operational efficiency of the DLE system.
“The E3 team has been putting in the hard yards to push Phase 1 of our Demonstration Facility forward,” said Chris Doornbos, President and CEO of E3 Lithium. “I’m thrilled that E3 Lithium is on the cusp of completing equipment assembly and commencing commissioning in the weeks ahead.”
