Google’s robotics initiative, Intrinsic, is moving from X to become a core part of Google. This mirrors the Android strategy, aiming to simplify robot development with an operating system for hardware and AI. Intrinsic will leverage Google’s AI and cloud resources to tap into the projected $370 billion robotics market. CEO Wendy Tan White envisions democratizing robot access, while partnerships like Foxconn signal strong demand in electronics manufacturing. This integration positions Intrinsic to accelerate AI-driven robotics, much like Android did for smartphones.

Microsoft is sunsetting Windows 10 to focus on Windows 11 with integrated AI features, aiming to capitalize on the growing AI PC market. Users can access advanced AI functionalities, including an enhanced Copilot assistant automating tasks via natural language. This aligns with advancements in AI “computer-use agents.” Copilot Actions, initially for enterprise users, will democratize AI-driven automation in Windows 11 but are disabled by default with user monitoring. This move aims to attract users from competitor platforms. Microsoft is cautiously rolling out Copilot Actions, prioritizing stability and user satisfaction.

Huawei’s consumer chief Richard Yu stated at Tsinghua University that developing ecosystems is tougher than creating OS systems. Speaking on May 23, he emphasized HarmonyOS—now running on 800 million devices globally—as an innovative, infrastructure-independent platform. Yu, a 1993 Huawei veteran behind key telecom patents, urged engineering graduates to join the company’s software initiatives, framing OS development as foundational for smart industries. He humorously contrasted his technical expertise with humanities, underscoring Huawei’s focus on cross-sector innovation for ecosystem maturity.
