The “One Grocery” initiative, led by Doug Buechel, seeks to unify Amazon’s diverse grocery operations, including bringing Whole Foods closer to its in-house grocery teams. This integrated approach is expected to streamline operations and enhance customer experience across all grocery touchpoints, from online ordering to physical store interactions.

The company is also bolstering its private label offerings with “Amazon Grocery,” which now features over 1,000 items, and plans further expansion in 2026. New physical store formats, including a “store within a store” concept at Whole Foods Market, are being developed, with a new retail concept in Orland Park, Illinois, designed to offer a broad selection of groceries and household essentials alongside general merchandise.
