CNBC AI News, July 14th – According to a police report released by the Xilinhot Public Security Bureau on July 13th, an incident involving a lawyer subjected to indecent assault in a taxi has led to the perpetrator’s arrest.
The incident unfolded when a taxi arriving in Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia, directly approached the Bayan Chagan Police Station. The driver reported that a female passenger had been subjected to indecent behavior by a male passenger seated next to her. Authorities promptly summoned all parties involved to the station for investigation.
The investigation revealed that during the taxi ride, a man named Man Moumou, while seated in the back alongside the victim, took advantage of her sleeping state to carry out the assault.
Under questioning, Man Moumou confessed to the illegal act of indecent assault.
Man Moumou, 48, is now in administrative detention, the Xilinhot Public Security Bureau has announced.
Prior reports indicate the victim, identified as lawyer Ms. Cheng, had been providing pro bono legal advice to Man Moumou earlier in the day. On July 11th, while sharing a ride from Hebei to Duolun, Inner Mongolia, Ms. Cheng, seated on the left in the back, engaged in conversation with Man Moumou, who sat to her right, addressing his concerns about unpaid wages. Learning they were both headed to Xilinhot, Ms. Cheng even assisted Man Moumou in arranging seats in a subsequent taxi.
However, once in the taxi to Xilinhot, Man Moumou began initiating unwanted physical contact with Ms. Cheng. In a swift act of self-preservation and seeking immediate assistance, Ms. Cheng discreetly used her phone’s notes application to write a message for the taxi driver, requesting that she be taken to the police station first.
