According to reports from domestic media outlets, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang donned a traditional Chinese Tang suit to address the Third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) today, delivering his inaugural speech in Mandarin. Following the formal address, NVIDIA convened a media briefing, where Huang traded his Tang suit for his signature leather jacket.
During the opening ceremony, Huang captivated the audience with a speech peppered with Mandarin phrases. He confessed to feeling a touch of nerves, stating that while he grew up in the U.S., he had also studied Chinese, and this marked his first public address in the language.
In Mandarin, Huang expressed, “I am delighted to be in China for my first time attending the CISCE. The scale is truly grand, and the atmosphere is electric, fully demonstrating China’s support for innovation.”
He then humorously acknowledged his limited Mandarin proficiency, quipping that he didn’t want to inflict further “torture” on the audience. “I will switch to English for the remainder of my speech to spare you all.”
