Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun showcased the rapid charging of the upcoming Xiaomi YU7 EV in a one-take video. The YU7 charged from 10% to 80% in just 13 minutes, demonstrating the power of its 800V high-voltage SiC platform and HyperCharge system. During the demonstration, the car maintained a stable voltage of 786V and a peak charging power of 446kW. While charging, Lei Jun interacted with followers on Douyin, highlighting his approachable personality.

Xiaomi aims for a strong YU7 SUV launch, targeting 120,000 pre-orders in 72 hours. Sales staff across approximately 300 stores are assigned individual pre-order quotas. The YU7, launching June 26th, offers three variants with single or dual-motor options, boasting impressive performance figures and advanced driver-assistance features. CEO Lei Jun downplayed price inflation rumors, highlighting its value proposition against competitors.

Xiaomi’s upcoming YU7 electric vehicle is generating intense market anticipation. Pre-emptive rental offers are appearing on secondary platforms, with daily rates potentially reaching 6,000 yuan, exceeding those of luxury cars like the BMW M5 and Bentley Flying Spur. Early adopters are anticipating high demand, mirroring the SU7 launch where initial rental prices were also high. However, experts predict significant early price volatility.

Xiaomi’s upcoming YU7 SUV will be a premium offering. Executives confirmed it won’t be a budget vehicle, emphasizing high-end features like LiDAR, an 800V architecture, and an impressive range. Comparisons to the SU7 Pro suggest a higher price point. The standard model boasts a CLTC range of 835km and 700 TOPS of computing power.
