Training Overview! Lei Jun Announces Free Nationwide Driving Training for 10,000 Xiaomi Car Owners

The Chinese tech company’s automotive arm launched a driving training program for SU7 owners to enhance driver skills and safety. The program, starting in Beijing, features modules on acceleration, braking, slalom courses, gymkhana, and skid control. The company will expand the free training to over ten cities, offering it to 10,000 owners, improving brand loyalty and road safety.

CNBC AI News – In a move demonstrating its commitment to both safety and driver experience, the Chinese tech giant’s automotive arm has launched an elite driving training program for its SU7 owners, starting with a session in Beijing. Champion racing driver Xie Xinzhe made a guest appearance offering his expertise.

The intensive course, designed to hone drivers’ skills and boost confidence behind the wheel, incorporates four key modules, according to Xie:

Training courses

1. Acceleration, Braking, and Emergency Lane Changes:

Participants experience the full potential of the SU7’s acceleration and braking capabilities in a safe environment. The goal is to familiarize drivers with the car’s performance limits and, critically, to instill confidence in emergency braking scenarios.

2. Slalom Course:

This module focuses on enhancing steering control, allowing drivers to explore the SU7’s handling characteristics at various speeds. Trainees learn the vehicle’s physical limits, understanding when vehicle control systems need driver assistance.

3. Gymkhana:

Combining the skills learned in previous modules, Gymkhana challenges drivers on a small, winding course, testing their visual awareness, timing, and overall control while navigating turns, acceleration, and braking.

4. Skid Control:

Simulating hazardous conditions, this session places drivers in a controlled environment with reduced traction, simulating oversteer and understeer. The module aims to equip drivers with the skills and knowledge to safely manage loss-of-control situations on public roads.

In a public statement, company chairman, Lei Jun, announced that the high-level driving program will expand to over ten cities across the country, offering free training to 10,000 SU7 owners. This initiative underscores the company’s dedication to road safety and represents a strategic move to enhance brand loyalty through added value for customers.
