Zou Hui, born in 1982, holds a bachelor’s degree. His career in public service has seen him serve in key positions within Zhuhai’s municipal government. Previously, he was the Deputy Director of the Rural and Agricultural Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Zhuhai. He then transitioned to become the Deputy Director of the Zhuhai Municipal State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC).
During his tenure at SASAC, Zou Hui held oversight responsibilities for departments managing supervision, enterprise leadership personnel, and organization. Notably, Gree Group was among the state-owned enterprises that Zou Hui directly serviced in his capacity at SASAC, giving him a foundational understanding of the conglomerate’s operations.
The outgoing Chairman, Kang Hong, previously held the positions of Party Secretary and Chairman of Gree Group. Kang Hong, born in 1976, hails from Sichuan province. His professional background includes significant roles in Zhuhai’s development, such as Deputy Director of the Zhuhai Hengqin New Area Comprehensive Development Committee, Director of the Hengqin New Area Development and Reform Bureau, Director of the Hengqin New Area Bureau of Commerce, and Deputy Director of the Hengqin New Area Management Committee.
In 2021, Kang Hong was appointed as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Zhuhai Municipal Government, retaining his section-level rank. During this period, he also served a temporary assignment as the Deputy General Manager of China Xiongan Group Urban Development Investment Co., Ltd.
Kang Hong took the helm at Gree Group as Party Secretary and Chairman in February 2024. His brief but impactful tenure sets the stage for Zou Hui’s leadership.
Established in March 1985, Zhuhai Gree Group Co., Ltd. operates as an independent corporate entity funded and authorized by the Zhuhai Municipal SASAC. It is worth noting that Dong Mingzhu currently serves as the Chairwoman of Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliance, Inc., a separate entity, a position she has held since April 2025.
