CNBC AI News – July 4th. He Gang, CEO of Huawei’s Terminal BG, recently took to Weibo, announcing a surge of new games now available on HarmonyOS 5, prompting him to declare his intent to download and experience them.

This festive rollout sparked a flurry of user inquiries in the comments section, with a recurring question: “When will Genshin Impact make its debut on HarmonyOS?”

In response, Huawei’s Terminal Customer Service stated that the company is actively engaged in development adaptation and technical discussions with application developers for HarmonyOS 5. Given the varying complexities and feature sets of different applications, the timeline for integrating each will differ. They advised users to add Genshin Impact to their wishlist within the App Market’s “My” section.

Once the game is officially launched on the platform, users will receive an immediate notification through the system’s notification bar.

Earlier in June, miHoYo, the developer behind Genshin Impact, announced the recruitment of beta testers for the HarmonyOS version of the game.

The current beta test recruitment is open to a select range of Huawei devices, including the Mate 70 series, Mate 60 series, Pura 70 series, Pura 80 series, nova 12 series, and the Mate X6 series, among others.

It’s important to note that most of the content being tested is still in its developmental stages, and the recruitment is for subsequent test versions.

To maintain the integrity of the official release and prevent player misunderstanding, participants in this beta test are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), as sharing leaked content from the test server could potentially undermine the experience for players on the official version.

In a company-wide address earlier this year, Richard Yu, Executive Director and Chairman of Huawei’s Terminal BG, highlighted a strategic imperative: a forceful push for the HarmonyOS ecosystem in 2025. He emphasized that reaching a milestone of 100,000 applications is a key indicator of ecosystem maturity, setting a critical target for the next six to twelve months.

This strategic expansion is poised to significantly broaden the scope of applications and enhance the overall user experience within the burgeoning HarmonyOS ecosystem.
