Uber Will Help Keep Los Angeles Moving and Deliver to the Olympic and Paralympic Village During the World’s Greatest Sporting Competition
Uber Also Will Partner with NBCUniversal to Support Coverage of Milano-Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028 Olympics
SAN FRANCISCO — Uber, the global mobility and delivery platform (NYSE: UBER), has secured a landmark partnership to become the official rideshare and delivery provider for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Team USA. The collaboration positions Uber at the heart of transportation logistics during the world’s premier sporting events.
Uber will leverage its technological infrastructure to architect and optimize citywide rideshare operations across Los Angeles’ sprawling Olympic landscape. The company will develop strategic pickup/drop-off networks and integrate multimodal transit solutions—addressing a critical challenge for the dispersed venues. Uber Eats will simultaneously power food delivery services within the Olympic and Paralympic Village while offering mobile ordering at select venues.
“Connecting global visitors through seamless mobility reflects our core mission,” stated Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. “Our drivers, couriers, and merchant partners form the operational backbone that will help LA28 shine on the world stage.”
LA28 Chairperson Casey Wasserman emphasized the strategic alignment: “Transportation weaves together the athlete and spectator experience. Uber’s innovation ecosystem supports our vision for a next-generation Games.”
In a parallel agreement, Uber will collaborate with NBCUniversal to enhance broadcast storytelling for both the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Games and LA28. NBCU’s Global Advertising Chairman Mark Marshall noted: “Uber’s tech-forward approach mirrors the Olympic spirit—we’ll showcase how their mobility solutions elevate the on-ground experience during our coverage.”
The partnership underscores LA28’s transit-first philosophy, with Uber deploying integrated mobility options—including cars, bicycles, and scooters—to reduce congestion around competition venues and transportation hubs.
