Leveraging the latest generation of Xiaomi’s “Dragon Bone Hinge,” this new foldable utilizes a three-linkage and four-floating plate design. Combined with a resilient 6.86-inch flexible glass screen, just as flat as the normal phone screen, Weibing promised a smooth appearance even after considerable use, boasting a tested ability to withstand over 200,000 folds without showing signs of wear.
Weibing also took the opportunity to subtly – or perhaps not so subtly – take aim at a rival’s foldable, commenting on the compromise in screen crease. He further emphasized this point later, noting the Redmi K80’s “master-level” dual-speaker set-up, while its competitors’ high-end, flagship models are equipped with one.
